During times of uncertainty, you brought hope to nature and culture.

As the new year approaches, we look back on 2020 – a challenging year for us all. During this year of uncertainty, you brought hope to our planet.

This year, hundreds of caring people like you came together to achieve powerful victories for conservation. You supported local conservationists and indigenous communities, ensuring the health and safety of nature’s greatest guardians. You protected wildlife and wild places, fighting extinction and global climate change.

And you created 1,005,217 new acres of protected areas – 1.3 times the size of Yosemite National Park!
Loja Municipal Conservation and Sustainable Use Area was one special area created this year with your support. From the spectacled bear to the sword-billed hummingbird, this protected area is home to many unique and threatened species. The area also safeguards water sources for 200,000 people!
Take a look at your generosity at work in the video below.

Right now, you can save even more precious places with 2X the impact! All gifts made until midnight on December 31 will be matched dollar-for-dollar. Please make your gift #ForWildPlaces today at natureandculture.org/save.
Thank you for being a part of the Nature and Culture Community. Your support protects wildlife and wild places in partnership with local people – and ensures a healthy planet for all.
