The world’s forests
are disappearing at an unprecedented rate, and every acre gone translates
into lost habitat for a great variety of plant and animal species.
Nature & Culture International helps protect unique areas by buying land to create private reserves,
and by working with governments and communities to create protected
areas in some of the most biodiverse regions of the Americas.

A core element of our ethic is to work with
local communities and governments to achieve sustainable forms of
development consistent with conservation goals. In the field, our
programs help to integrate community development with conservation
objectives, empowering local people and improving livelihoods while
helping to conserve unique and threatened ecosystems.

Nature & Culture International operates with great efficiency by minimizing
our presence in the United States and working through local offices
with local experts in the provinces of Loja and Zamora in Ecuador,
and Piura, Loreto, and Amazonas in Peru, and with partner relationships
in Sonora, Mexico. This allows us to build strong relationships
with the local people, greatly increasing our effectiveness. |
